Meet Sam!
Sam Bertoncino is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Thaden School. Thaden School is an independent (soon to be) K-12 school located in Bentonville, Arkansas. Living in Bentonville, she loves to spend time outside at her local parks, the farmers markets, or exploring new restaurants. And she loves spending summers at the lake with friends that she considers family. For Sam, her position at Thaden School is more than just a job. She truly believes it is the first job where she feels like she is making a difference, and it fills her cup. The impact that she has seen a Thaden education have on kids is truly life-changing. Sam is spending this summer with the newest addition to her family, Briar, who was born in May, as well as her two-year-old Banks and husband Nick!
What brought you to Storm Cloud Marketing?
My relationship with Tony. Tony and my husband Nick have been best friends for years. When we needed to update some of our creative, I reached out to Tony and the Storm team to help.
What services do you utilize the Storm Team for?
We needed to update a video explaining the tuition at Thaden, as well as a few different graphic design projects. The Storm team was able to nail the vision that we had for the video, and give our marketing materials a fresh look as well.
If you could have lunch with one celebrity, dead or alive, who would it be, and why?
Easy. Taylor Swift. She is a genius, but also seems so down-to-earth and kind. I think she would be a great person to get to know.
What are 3 of the most important apps/websites you use for your business every day?
- Google Drive
- Buffer
- Adobe Products
What is one thing you couldn’t live without, and why?
An oven! I decompress and show my love by baking and cooking. I would genuinely feel lost without that hobby.
Android or iPhone? Why?
iPhone all the way. The amount of items it syncs up with is superior to the rest. Plus no one likes getting green text messages.
What is one piece of advice you would give someone who is interested in pursuing a career in your field?
I would say that being dynamic is one of the best assets. Every problem has a solution.
Who is your favorite Storm team member? And why? (We won't tell!)
Well I only really KNOW Ted aka Tony (you're welcome for the nickname), but Candace is my gal. In another life situation, we might be best friends, and I love that for us.
What song is currently on repeat for you?
A Bar Song by Shaboozey because my two-year-old is obsessed with it. “oh my GOOD LORD” as he likes to yell.
Where is your favorite place you have traveled too and why?
Kotor Bay in Montenegro. It is hands down the most beautiful place I have ever been. My husband and I went during the off season and had it to ourselves. I also have a special place in my heart for Sevilla, Spain, because I studied abroad there for 6 months and it changed me as a person.
What is the most important lesson you have learned at your job/business?
You have to advocate for yourself and create your own work-life balance and set those boundaries.
